HOW TO JOIN THE
PENNDEL FIRE COMPANY

The Penndel Fire Company is always looking for Volunteers weather it’s Fighting Fires, Administrative Duties, Directing Traffic or Help with Fund Raising or Fire Prevention Programs. We are an all Volunteer force with a lot of devotion to the community. To join our organization you must fill out an application that is available at our fire station located at Centre and Crescent Streets in Penndel Borough. The minimum age to join the fire company is 16. (anyone under the age of 18 is required to present working papers and a guardians signature of approval with the application)

To maintain active status with our organization you are required to attend at least 7 meetings a year (3 excuses allowed for work, school or illness) and one training session per month. Our company meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:30pm. Training is every Tuesday night beginning at 7:00pm (except meeting night) and two Sunday mornings per month beginning at 9:30 am.

The Penndel Fire Company will send you to all required training classes so you will be able to respond to emergencies and the only thing it will cost you is time. Our fire companies primary fire protection area is 4 square miles protecting 15,000 residents however, we provide automatic mutual aid protection totaling 40 square miles protecting over 150,000 residents in Lower Bucks County. We respond to an average of 525 emergencies per year. (see stats page for more info.) We also have duty crews in the station on random nights to provide Fire, Rescue and QRS services. The Quick Response Service program help’s the residents of our community in the event of a medical emergency.

After you turn in your application it will be read at the next company meeting and then it will be sent out for a back ground check conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police and a report will be made at the following meeting. If accepted you will be placed on probation for six months. At this point you will receive a copy of our constitution and bylaws and a welcome packet. The next step is to attend the meetings and training sessions to get to know the other members.

Our doors are open to everyone and you are welcome to stop by the fire house to ask questions, see the equipment and pick up information at any time.
